ORITAVANCIN (LYO)

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Oritavancin kills bacteria or prevents their growth by inhibiting peptidoglycan cell wall synthesis and disrupting bacterial cell membrane. It is used to treat acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections.

DOSAGE FORM

Injection: 400 mg per vialas a single dose by intravenous infusion over 3 hours.

INDICATIONS

Itis indicated for the treatment of adult patients with acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) caused or suspected to be caused by susceptible isolates of the following gram-positive microorganisms: Staphylococcus aureus (including methicillin-susceptible [MSSA]
