An antisense oligonucleotide that increases the production of survival motor neuron (SMN) protein. It is a medication used to treat spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in children and adults.

Injection: 12mg per 5ml (2.4mg/ml)intrathecally.

INDICATIONS

Nusinersen is an orphan drug approved for the treatment of 5q spinal muscular atrophy. It is used for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy (an inherited condition that reduces muscle strength and movement) in infants, children, and adults.

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE

  • Shelf life: 5 years (60 months).
  • Store in a refrigerator between 2-8°C (36-46°F) in the original carton to protect from light. Do not freeze.
