PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Irinotecan belongs to the group of medicines called antineoplastics (cancer medicines). It interferes with the growth of cancer cells, which are eventually destroyed. Since the growth of normal cells may also be affected by the medicine, other effects may also occur.

(+)-(4S)-4,11-diethyl-4-hydroxy-9-[(4-piperidino-piperidino)carbonyloxy]-1H-pyrano[3′,4′:6,7]indolizino[1,2-b]quinol-3,14,(4H,12H)-dione.

INDICATIONS

Irinotecan is indicated for the treatment of Metastatic carcinoma of the colon or rectum as first-line treatment in combination with fluorouracil and leucovorin.

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE

  • Shelf life: 3 years (36 months)
  • Store at controlled room temperature 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F). Protect from light. It is recommended that the vial should remain in the carton until the time of use.
