PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

An antiviral agent used to prevent or treat cytomegalovirus infections that may occur when the body’s immune system is suppressed. In gene therapy, ganciclovir is used with an altered herpes simplex virus-1 gene to kill advanced melanoma cells and brain tumor cells.

DOSAGE FORM

  • Capsules: 250mg,500mg for Oral use.
  • Injection: 500mg per 250ml for intravenous infusion use.

INDICATIONS

It is indicated for the treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis in immunocompromised adult patients, including patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE

  • Shelf life: 3 years (36 months)Unreconstituted.
  • Capsules should be stored at 5-25 °C and ganciclovir sodium sterile powder should be stored at room temperature; exposure to temperatures exceeding 40 °C should be avoided.
