PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Fosaprepitantdimeglumine is a prodrug of aprepitant, which is an antiemetic that binds to the substance P/neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptors in the brain. It is a water-soluble drug that is used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy.

CHEMICAL NAME

1-deoxy-1-(methylamino)-D-glucitol, [3-[[(2R,3S)-2-[(1R)-1-[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethoxy]-3-(4-fluorophenyl)-4-morpholinyl]methyl]-2,5-dihydro-5-oxo-1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl]phosphonate (2:1) (salt). Its CAS number is 265121-04-8.

DOSAGE FORM

Injection:150 mg per vial, white to off-white lyophilized powder in single dose glass vial for reconstitution. (Intravenous use)

INDICATIONS

It is usedin combination with other antiemetic agents, is indicated in adults and pediatric patients 6 months of age and older for the prevention of: • acute and delayed nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of highly emetogenic cancer chemotherapy (HEC).

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE

  • Shelf life: 2 years (24 months)Unreconstituted.
  • Store in a refrigerator (2°C-8°C). The reconstituted final drug solution is stable for 24 hours.
