PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Delafloxacin is used to treat acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) and community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP). Delafloxacin belongs to the class of drugs, known as quinolone antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth.

CHEMICAL NAME

(S)-9-fluoro-2,3-dihydro-3-methyl-10-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-7-oxo-7H-pyrido(1,2,3-de)-1,4-benzoxazine-6-carboxylic acid.

INDICATIONS

Delafloxacin belongs to the class of fluoroquinolones. Used in the systemic treatment of infections of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections caused by the Gram-positive organisms Staphylococcus aureus (including methicillin-resistant and methicillin-susceptible isolates), Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus lugdunensis, Streptococcus agalactiae.

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE

  • Shelf life: 3 years (36 months)
