PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
It is an antibacterial agent with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against both penicillin-susceptible Gram-positive organisms and many common Gram-negative pathogens. Ampicillin sodium is a white to off-white crystalline powder.

(2S,5R,6R)-6-([(2R)-2-amino-2-phenylacetyl]amino) -3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-2- carboxylic acid.

DOSAGE FORM
- Injection: 250mg, 500mg, 1g, 2gIntravenous or Intramuscular use

INDICATIONS
Ampicillin is used to treat certain infections that are caused by bacteria such as meningitis (infection of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord); and infections of the throat, sinuses, lungs, reproductive organs, urinary tract, and gastrointestinal tract.

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE
The shelf life of ampicillin depends on how it’s stored:
- Irradiated sodium salt: 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored at 2–8°C
- Sodium salt: At least two years when stored at -20°C
- Culture plates: Up to two weeks when stored at 2–8°C
- Stock solutions: Up to three weeks when stored at 2–8°C, or 4–6 months when stored at -20°C
- In 0.9% sodium chloride: Stable for at least 24 hours at room temperature, or at least 72 hours when refrigerated.
