DEXMEDETOMIDINE
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Dexmedetomidine is a medication used to sedate patients before or during medical procedures, or to treat patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). It’s a central alpha-2 adrenergic agonist that works by binding to and activating alpha-2 adrenoceptors in the brain, which inhibits the release of norepinephrine. This leads to sedation, analgesia, and anxiolysis.
